1. You will be covered in spit-up and other bodily fluids for the first year.
2. Babies are quick, especially when diaperless — be armed with towels.
3. Getting a shower AND brushing your teeth in the same day may be too much to ask for awhile.
4. The window for running errands between feeding times whizzes by. Spend it wisely.
5. Your baby will have a major blow-out in public. More than once.

Expect to read their favourite story which is usually “Green Eggs and Ham” at least 5 times a day.
I have a two year old who stands in front of me with a copy of said book shouting “HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!”
Sleep as much as you can, as often as you can.
If someone offers to do something for you, TAKE THEM UP ON IT IMMEDIATELY!! They may not offer again in the future.
