“Mom, I’ve got a slither in my finger.” Cody, age 5.
“Don’t get all wild up!” Rachel, all ages, meaning “riled up.”
“Guys, I CANNOT sleep with all this ruckus!” Cody, age 5.
While driving during harvest time (we live in a rural area), I looked back to see Logan looking out the window and grinning. I asked him what he was smiling about and he said, “I’m spying on the combines.” Age 4.
At the store one day, Cody and Logan were getting antsy in the cart, so I said, “What song should we sing?” hoping I could distract them. Cody looked at me and solemnly said, “It’s not possible today.” Age 4.
Cody kept trying to clear his throat, but it wasn’t working. Frustrated, he said, “I can’t even excuse my own voice!” Age 5.
On the way home from school, Cody, Logan and I were talking about growing up. Logan pondered the idea and said in a concerned tone, “But Mom, if we grow up too fast, we will be giants!” Age 4.
