I am loving the beautiful spring weather we’ve been having this week. Blue, sunny skies, birds chirping away, baby calves in the pastures trotting along next to their moms, tiny green grass buds starting to spread over the ground… It’s pretty difficult to be in a bad mood under these circumstances.
The kids and I have been outside in the evenings cleaning up the yard and enjoying the warmth and fresh air. The only problem is that they never want to come in to get ready for bed because, as my 6-year-old points out, “Mom, it’s not even dark!” That’s one thing I love about summer vacation — they can play until dark if they want to.
Now I’m getting all wired up to plant my garden and do some spring cleaning and painting. It’s amazing how little inspiration one can feel during the gloomy, cloudy, long, freezing-cold winter days and how inspired one can feel with the sun shining and new life springing up everywhere.
