As I predicted earlier, we’re getting tired of all this forced togetherness, despite having gotten out for the afternoon and evening yesterday. The kids’ sickness doesn’t help the overall mood of crankiness at all either.

A few of the highs and lows this vacation:

High: The kids begged me to let them all sleep in Logan’s room because they wanted to be together.
Low: Rachel and Cody ended up in their own rooms due to comfort issues and I overheard Andie hacking up a lung several times, followed by Logan screeching, “Aaaaaaaaaaa!” indignantly as she dared to interrupt his sleep.

High: The kids have been home all week, so we’ve gotten lots of together time.
Low: The kids have been home all week, so there has been way too much squabbling, noise and chaos.

High: Christmas was quiet.
Low: We missed both of the family Christmas gatherings due to bad weather conditions and we didn’t get to see the kids’ dad.

High: We got about a foot of snow, which the kids have had a blast playing in.
Low: We were stuck inside the house/yard for 4 days. Plus there’s a foot of snow outside.

High: The kids cleaned the house for me while I was working today.
Low: The boys apparently spent all their positive energy on the house and being nice to each other while I was gone because the boys had none left by the time I got home and crying, begging and whining ensued.

High: The boys both got a couple new Leapster games for Christmas.
Low: Logan declared that his new Nemo game is “stupid,” even though he hasn’t even tried it out, preferring instead to play Cody’s “Batman” game.

Tomorrow: New Year’s parenting resolutions!
