As I went through Cody’s papers after school yesterday, my heart melted upon seeing this:

I think I’m lucky because I have a new baby cousin. I have a good mother.
“Oh, Cody, that’s so sweet!” I said, giving him a hug. “That really makes my day.”
The warm fuzzies immediately evaporated when he replied, “Yeah, I couldn’t think of anything else.”
These are gems. Here’s mine. In first grade, we went in for parents’ night. The kids had made flags on paper to represent their lives and used symbols for what’s important. On Bryn’s: Family (hooray!)…soccer (hooray) and this:

Wow. In first grade, one of the things she ranked right up there with love of family? Money…Oof. It’s going to be a long life, kiddo.
