School’s out…for the summer!

The kids are all officially done with school now, as of today. Here’s the rundown so far: Logan, who finished school on Friday, had his first day at the Boys & Girls Club today. While I was traumatized by the whole prospect of leaving him there alone, pretty much defenseless, he barely said “goodbye” to [...]

Planting seeds

While I was gone on another training trip this weekend, the kids’ dad, Glen, took them out for cheeseburgers. “Dad, look at this,” said 6-year-old Logan, as he pulled sesame seeds off the top of his bun. “I’m picking the seeds off of my cheeseburger so I can plant them and grow more cheeseburgers!”

This photo says it all

“What happened?” I asked Cody, after reading the above paper. “I just couldn’t hold it in any longer!” he told me.

My shadow

I just found this among my many saved drafts from November 2008, when Logan was still in preschool. Now, a year and a half later, it’s a precious memory, rather than a complaint/reflection. Sydney: Art, because I love to draw. Me: What are you looking forward to most this summer? Sydney: Camping at Storybook Land. Me: Do [...]

Mom brag

Tonight was my daughters’ Middle School Spring Concert. All the hours of hard work, practice and driving everyone crazy at times this year paid off for Andrea. Out of all the 6th-8th graders, my 6th grader was awarded the single “Most Improved” certificate for the band at the end of the night. I’m so proud [...]
